A Review Of Dental Veneers And Laminates In West Los Angeles

By Joan Barrett

The modern technology has made almost everything to be easy and fast. Dental reconstruction has even become easier and faster because a patient will only visit a dentist once. Therefore, the teeth can be restored within a single appointment compared to the traditional procedures. The Dental Veneers And Laminates In West Los Angeles procedure are now available, and most people prefer it over the traditional one. This modern dental technology is also called CEREC or chair side ceramics, and a big number of dentists, as well as patients, are now embracing it.

Typically, the veneers are designed and manufactured using the computer, and although this technology has been there for a long time, it was not as famous as it is now. It encompasses everything from the preparation of these teeth to the fixing all done in a single appointment. Therefore, one does not need to revisit the dentist because the procedure will be completed upon the first visit.

To add on that, these fittings can even save your tooth because they require lesser time for preparation and fitting compared to the traditional method. More so, it is a time-saving procedure since everything will be completed within a single dental visit. Thus, for the people with a busy schedule, this can be ideal for them as they will not have to spend more than a day with the dentist.

This procedure involves preparing the tooth then using a special camera called an intraoral camera to take some 3D shots of your tooth. The camera is usually small, and it is very comfortable. After the images have been taken, the dentist uses a computer to design digital 3D images of the tooth using specific measurements.

Editing of teeth images is done, and all the pits, fissures, ridges and indentations are taken into consideration to come up with a replica of your teeth. Then, the design is cut out from ceramics and the machine used to cut is called milling equipment. The preparation does not take long, and the dentist then glues the veneer made to your teeth.

There are some advantages of this technology and the main ones include cost-effectiveness. This is because the appointment time is reduced thus the cost will also be reduced. More so, the cost of temporary fittings will also be reduced. The procedure is also time-saving as everything is done within very few hours. Comfort is also assured to patients.

This kind of technology is the best choice because it is possible to restore the looks of a person within a short period. Injury cases are also reduced because drilling will be reduced. The teeth will be stronger as well, and the decaying of teeth will be reduced as well.

However, the CERECs have some few shortcomings. For instance, they may not be as strong as the metal fittings that were used before. The metal fittings were usually made from some alloys. Thus they bonded strongly with the tooth and increased their resistance. More so, in case of fractures below the gum, the metal fittings are better than CEREC.
