Importance Of Aluminum Free Deodorant

By Lisa Snyder

Toxins in the body are naturally eliminated through various ways. One of the ways of elimination is through the skin. Elimination of toxins through the skin results into a naturally unpleasant body odor, which everybody has. To manage this odor, most people use deodorants, which they apply everyday so that they have a better smell. It is important to choose a product that is not toxic, but still produces a long lasting effect on the human body.

When considering products that are toxin free, one category of deodorants ring a bell in the mind of most people. These are the aluminum free deodorant categories. There are many reasons and claims why avoiding deodorants that contain aluminium should be avoided. One of the reasons is that they cause cancer, although there is still no evidence to confirm that claim.

However, there are many other reasons why these products should be avoided and instead natural alternatives used. The first reason is that aluminium-based products mask the smell by producing a sweet odor. On the other hand, natural products contain baking soda. Baking soda is important in the management of body odor because it prevents the formation of odor-causing bacteria. Therefore, natural products provide a better solution for odor management.

Even though there is a no solid evidence linking aluminium to cancer, there has been a strong correlation between Alzheimer disease and diseases caused by high aluminum content in the body. This could imply that high content of aluminium may cause Alzheimer disease. That makes it necessary to avoid consumption of aluminium, especially with the increase in the level of prevalence of Alzheimer disease. More young people are currently being affected by the disease.

Avoidance of aluminium-based deodorants is always advised for pregnant women. This is to avoid introducing toxins into the body. Chemical deodorants are supposed to be avoided just like smoking and drinking should be avoided. What enters into the body of the mother also enters of the infant. If the substance is harmful to the body of the mother, then its effect on the infant is even much worse.

The health of skin is improved by the use of natural deodorants. When applied for a long time, commercial deodorants result into wear and tear of the skin. This causes the skin to appear dry and chaffed. Similarly, chemical deodorants contain parabens, estrogenics, as part of their ingredients. Estrogens are absorbed through the skin surface and may cause hormonal imbalance within the body.

The metal additives contained in chemical deodorants may not be safe for people with sensitive skins. When applied, these products are likely to cause rashes, lumps, or hives among other adverse effects. The reaction from chemical deodorants is particularly adverse. This is contrasted from natural products which cause no adverse effects in most cases.

Lastly, natural deodorant products may be slightly cheaper compared to their chemical counterparts. That makes them even more worthwhile to consider purchasing. They can be bought from stores that stock related products. The list of ingredients is always written on the container.
