Vital Notes On Autism Aba Therapy

By Robert Snyder

Autism has become very common especially in the modern day and age whereby children are born with great struggles in developing relationships and even communicating. It is regarded a mental condition that manifests as early as when the child starts developing and such children have trouble understanding other peoples thoughts and behaviors as well as expressing themselves in social places. This article gives in depth understanding of autism aba therapy.

One of the most common rehabilitation technique used by psychotherapists is the applied behavioral analysis. This treatment focuses on teaching behavior, communication, and self-care, skills of living and even social academic work to reduce the problem. It has been effective especially for children who are learning as their abilities and skills improve over time. Applied behavioral analysis focuses on teaching behaviors and through the use of different strategies the analysis have worked.

There are different strategies applied in this therapy which include a command or request which acts like a stimulus whereby the person suffering from the condition should react to. It may come from the environment, another person or within the subject and the autistic individual is expected to react to the stimulus.

It is imperative to note that some of the factors that leads to this disorder is when a pregnant woman is open to certain drugs or hazardous substances. The use of alcohol during pregnancy is also a prevailing cause as well as being obese and having conditions such as diabetes. The use of ant seizure drugs during prenatal period can also lead to a child being autistic. As it is sometimes mentioned that some vaccines cause the disorder researchers have not proven that yet and there is no valid evidence about it.

Skills are broken down into small stages and consequently taught using stimuli which are slowly eradicated when the stages are mastered by the children. The child is also given recurrent opportunities to learn and also practice the step in various ways so as to increase their potential in doing things and performing different tasks. An individual trainer works hand in hand with the child directly so as to monitor the childs personalized program.

Communication problem is also another difficulty that results due to the disorder and it can also be improved through verbal therapy. Most children start babbling by the age of one and when they are three they start saying two or three words, by distinction young children with the condition tend to delay in speaking and even babbling, they also have difficulties in learning different gestures as well using them.

In this account it is evident that the causes of the disorder are diverse and as mentioned above there is no one standard cause. Children develop this disorder and through different therapies they are able to improve their communication skills, interactions in addition to their behaviors. Autistic children are known to have a repetitive behavior based on what they have acquired and thus through the therapies they can acquire different and diverse behaviors.

Conclusively, parents at home are encouraged to use the therapy guiding principles even at home in their daily lives to ensure continuous learning for the individuals. This also ensures improvement of skills and abilities much better as the learner is exposed to them everywhere.
