Allergy And Asthma Center And The Hotel Industry

By Adam G. Trettin

The hotel industry has evolved a lot. Most of these hotels are striving to be classier and provide more facilities while in fact they should be thinking about the cleanliness. Most of the people who stay in hotels are less concerned with the amenities that they get and more worried about the hygiene of the place. While many elements in this industry have changed, the one thing that has not is the housekeeping practices. The information below is from a reputable allergy and asthma center.

It is stated that the majority of the people living in America have tested positive for an allergy or more. Hotel industries have not responded to this disturbing statistics. They do not realize that travelers can get duress when they are traveling, and this makes them vulnerable. Hence, they can get an allergic reaction or asthma attack. Something very little like red, watery eyes, sore throat nagging cough, flu, headache, or itch might compromise the whole vacation forcing them to go back home.

Those people who are allergic and go to hotels that do not observe hygiene are only making their condition worse. The one thing about allergies is that one needs to be around the fresh air. However, the air in hotels is compromised due to dust, mites, mildew, molds, and pests. The chemical that is used to do the cleaning can also affect many guests.

With this in mind, there has to be a way that has been implemented to make sure that the air in the hotels is purified. Since a majority of the hotels do not have windows that can open as a security measure, they have no choice than to source control. That is they have to make sure that there is frequent dusting, they have installed air purifiers and filters so that they can improve the quality of air that gets into the guest rooms.

Despite the fact that having pets in a hotel attracts more guests, it is also a health hazard. The hotel management needs to make sure that they have good cleaning facilities to ensure that they get rid of any fur or pet dander. This, in turn, will make the hotel safe for the guest and reduce the chance of having an allergic reaction.

The other matter of concern is the condition of the room. There are some lodges that have dampness in the room; this is brought by poor constructions or the sewage unit. This, in turn, compromises the sanitation of the room and thus increasing the chances of guest getting an allergic reaction.

Hotel also needs to put into account the guests that have allergies. They should have their hypo-reactive suits where they can sleep and be sure that they will not have any attacks or allergic reaction. This will ascertain that the guest who is hyper-reactive has a comfortable stay in the facility.

Above mentioned are the major things that the hospitality industry should think of implementing as a way of ensuring that the guests are well-taken care off and that they do not become ill.
